Network Programming with Go cover

No Starch Press recently released my book, Network Programming with Go, for early access. Although I’m finishing up the index and preparing to give the entire project a final once-over before it heads to print, you can get an advance copy of the ebook.

I plan to use this blog to cover many of the topics that didn’t make it into the book. My fear was that I wouldn’t be able to come up with enough content to reach a comfortable page count for each chapter. Instead, I learned I’m terrible at estimating how many pages technical topics take to adequately explain, and I ended up having the opposite problem. I frequently had to temper my ambition and distill each chapter’s topics down to the most important ones. Even then, I’d often end up with 50 pages in a chapter, which warranted splitting into two chapters.

If you come across any topics I covered in the book that you feel need more explanation, or I omitted a topic you wish I covered, please let me know. I’ll likely write about it here. This medium is a bit more conducive to interaction anyway.

Honestly, I’ve never been much of a writer. It turns out I have a lot to say when I’m passionate about a subject, and I set a goal to write about my deep dives into it.
